Few details accompany the video, whose visuals and action-oriented gameplay are very Western-oriented, to say the least. The video's action sequences are broken up by concept art from GRIN that we've seen before. The only detail recognizably familiar to me, and I'm no Final Fantasy expert, is the chocobo around 1:20.

The host of this video (whose YouTube profile, by the way, identifies him as "William Mark Felt"), says the game is "set some time after the events of Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings," and is meant for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. "The project has not been officially announced yet, but its existence is known due to information leaked by former members of the development team and sources in the video game industry," the host said.

"The Fortress project is still supported by Square Enix and in development at a currently undisclosed studio - possibly Eidos Montreal, Square Enix's main Western branch," he said. No sources for that information were cited, although earlier reports said the project was still in development.

I have emailed a Square-Enix representative to ask if the company has any comment on this video. If any is offered it will be updated here.

I throw this in the FF12 board since it's supposedly a "sequel" to the series. Though I think by sequel they mean it could be based in Ivalice. Looks, uh, different.

I think it looks like a FFXII gone Hack n slash..

I am though curious on what will become of this title.

hmmm, looks as if it could have potential but I dont really see any connection between that game and FF aside from the Chocobo..

From what I've seen, this looks alot like FF14 gameplay.

Well from what I heard, GRIN was taken off from the project when Squenix weren't all that pleased with how it progressed.

Yeah, I agree with it looking like FF14. When I saw it, it immediately reminded me of FF11. Perhaps the change in style and aesthetic really bothered square, causing them to take the project back from GRIN. Grin apparently saw a ton of potential in the game, going so far to say that it was their masterpiece. More info on the story:

I'm sorry if I offend any FF12 fans but FF12 needs to die. Immediately. It wasn't that good to begin with and a sequel isn't going to change that.

Well from what it looks like, the video shown make it look like it was in a very early development stage.. So Just by judging it from the video, I say it's hard to tell if it will turn out good or just... FFXII >.>

Since only that video and some few concept art pictures has been shown about it.
