Game Cover

Hey. Only since FFXII have I actually looked to beat the crappy Australian delays for the Final Fantasy games. However XIII is actually being released at the same time as Europe and US, in Australia. So that's not a problem.

I was just wondering if anyone knows a lot about the cover. I went down to the EB store to pre-order it, but I noticed that the cover has lightning on it? I was like..

'Traditionally, its just the logo on a white back drop.'

USA always have their own covers, but Australia/Europe and Japan to my understanding had the classic white backdrop and logo. Nothing else.

Anyway I went online and the Japanese version is like that! With just the logo, which is sweet. However I can't read Japanese. Lol. Anyway the question is if anyone, in their respective country, has seen in store, that their version is just the logo. The game is obviously not out yet, but there should be pre-order cases everywhere.

Also if anyone has any info on what the Limited Edition actually contains, that'd be aweome as well. ie. is it a metal case? etc.

But we're looking for something like this. I know the US/AUS version is mad, but I've got a collection of old school covers. I cant just ruin it with this one. It'll put off the whole collection.

Anyway. Any help would be sweet.

I don't really care about the cover. Ever since I started playing all three regions I've had a multitude of different cover arts for collection, I do take note of end labels though and try to seperate the white EU ones from the colored US and japanese written JP ones.

I honestly hope it's not a metal case for a ltd edition, I find them horendous and I'm actually trying to find someone to buy my DMC4 ltd edition just because of it. It's bad enough PS3 games don't fit in a traditional DVD rack but to bust up the view with metal cases is taking it too far.

If you're truly hardcore enough you might wanna import a second copy from japan with the white BG and logo cover art but if I were you I'd just take it as they come. New system is a good time to break away from traditions.

Blah, the US always gets shafted with the covers. I've almost always preferred the Euro covers.

Yeah the US covers almost always have characters on the front. VII had just cloud, but VIII, IX, and XII had the whole cast pretty much. looks like X and XIII will have just the protagonist.

I personally don't see a problem with having the lead role or the cast on the cover. I much prefer that to just the logo, even though the logos always look awesome.

As far as options for you, I've seen a special edition and regular edition online for preorder. The special is a metal case, if that's what you want. But it seems like there are two versions of the cover art: the one with the logo, and the one with Lightning. And if they all come out on the same day, why not just get the one you want?

Look at this way; you yanks might get poor cover art from time to time, but you get way better special and limited editions of most games than we do over in Europe.

We are the original poor relations, when it comes to stuff like this. We hardly ever get them at all and when we do, they are so slip-shod compared to the US versions (The Batman: AA one being a case in point).

I gave up hoping for decent limited editions sets coming out over here a long time ago. Miserable, but there we are...

To return to box art... well, it doesn't really matter that much, does it?

You'd rather it was good of course, but so long as the game itself is good, I wouldn't mind if it came wrapped up in a battered old cardboard box sealed with used duct tape.

PS3 DMC 4 ? If so how much are you looking for ? I might be interested. ( contrary to popular belief I DO buy some games, and I enjoyed DMC4 enough to be willing to splash out on it again to see it on the PS3)

The Ltd. Edition of this game has the cover I'm looking for. Which is awesome. It also has a Calendar, Soundtrack, 4 Mini Posters and 1 Artbook. It's perfect.
