Why do you think that XIII's trailers are scary?
I think they look cool.
I personally wouldn't get a tattoo of FF on myself. That's a bit too far for me. Although some of the designs are really cool.
I did think about getting the balamb garden symbol from VIII tattooed for a while, but then I changed my mind and got a flower instead.

Scary in that I don't think it'll be a good game, and that it'll be highly mainstream. I can't help but shake this feeling of dread.

As for that tattoo, yeah, I have my doubts sometimes, and other times I'm ultra keen. At the moment, I'm going through a doubt period, and you shouldn't be getting anything tattoo'd on you if there's any doubt about it. I don't know. FFXIII is a long way off.

I played Final Fantasy VII when it first came out in 1997. I was pooping bricks when i played it i was like 0.0 WOW!!!!! THIS IS FREAGGIN AMAZING!!!! when i was 6...... good times good times :)

Personally I don't think very many of the FF symbols would make good tattoo's.
The one for XIII is included in that. It's just a big ball with faces on it. Not appealing.
However I do think the game will be good.

I reckon the FF8 Logo would make an okay one. The only problem is that it's a little too similar to the colour of your skin, and might require black outlining.

On top of that, FFVIII is my least favourite in the series. I've seen an FFIV Kain tattoo logo before. The FF6, FF12 and FF1 ones would also be cool.
