Remake or No Remake?

Is a FF7 Remake for PS3 whatever really necessary?
Do you think it'd be a good idea or do you like FF7 the good old Playstation way it is?

Oh and if ever a PS3 remake is ever out do you think there will be a PC port following, just like the old days?

Lol you're generally meant to keep the poll votes to one word. My reason for picking "Bad Idea" is not what you've written.

Im sure it would be a good game. Itd run well, install some new features and look great whilst still feeling like the same game. However, I am sick of FF7 being milked. If you google image "Cloud ff7", you will get Advent Children photos in a 1-9 ratio, which is pathetic. If this game comes out, the old PSX version will almost be forgotten.

No remake please.

I think we have enough FFVII stuff to keep us entertained into the next millenium.
We've got the orignal game then CC and DoC then we've got two movies AC and ACC and then we've got the animated short showing what happened after Zack and Cloud escaped from Nibel.
Did I miss anything?
Personally I can't wait for the new FF to come out, it would make a change from rehashing old stories.

so that is 3 movies and 4 games. PLus the extra added short film about Denzel in ACC

As we do have enough FFVII sequels and such, I wouldn't so much mind a remake with updated graphics myself. The original game did not age well graphically speaking. Though, by no means, I also don't want a remake either. Besides I think FFVII as the first 3D Final Fantasy was way too overhyped.

I don't mind. I'm rather tempted to play through the original series, now that I've seen parts of the VII world in various games, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core. Anyway, seeing the characters in high-definition is always interesting to see.

I wouldn't even mind if they remade any other series, anyway. And they did hint at it's possible remake at the end of Crisis Core, with Cloud on the first mission in the original game. And rumours floating around seems to be suggesting a remake. (I've not been keeping up with the latest news though, so I won't know for certain.)

I would not call the final scene with cloud on the train in Crisis core as a hint for a remake. It was what it was. The end of Crisis Core and the beginning of FF7.

The only reason that VII would be remade is because Square want more money. Anyone want to bet that if XII flops they'll push a VII remake out faster than you can say "money money money"
