Threads about major villains is so cliche. Everyone argues about "mister you know who" and etc but forget the little guys.

So, nevertheless what minor villain is close to your heart? ^^

For me I have a few:

Black Waltz no 3 (ff9): Short appearance, but he still had his glory in cinematic and returned to trouble you a second time unlike the other waltzes. Insane, determined and just awesome. However, he was too easy in battle.

(And definitely one of the more touching scenes in ff9 is when the black mages stands in Waltz way to protect Vivi.)

Zorn and Thorn (ff9 again): Just annoying, very annoying! And yet you can't help feeling some form of villainy love for them.

Judge Ghis (ff12): I was really sad that he had such a short appearance, he was my favorite villain for a quite long time. But he certainly goes out with a bang at his end. (Quite litterly.)

Edea (not really a villain :/ but still. FF8.): So wickedly evil and she turns out not be the true villain, what a disappointment. Instead german accented, busty sorceress doll with a time fetish makes her appearance at the end. (At least Seifer was rewarding, Ultimecia is just zero.)

Hojo was one of my favourites... but tbh I have a lot of love for most of the characters working for ShinRa.

He's rather cute somehow :P (wonder why Japanese always like "hentaish monsters" in their games).

Yeah, he has much more influence on the story than most of the other chars, yet he remains forgotten :/

Good thread. I love villains. Generally a favourite character out of the games. Sub villains I love as well. However I fear most of my choices are people on integridy, who just fought on the wrong side. So that may disqualify a lot of my choices.

FFXII Judges, namely Gabranth

Kudos for naming Ghis, he's great. They're all great though. Excellent voice acting, interesting and different motivations and excellent dialogue. Two are evil, two are good and one is neutral. Therefore it's kind of hard to label them villains as a group. However, Gabranth, who is my favourite, probably isn't quite a villain. He is motivated by guilt for his mother who was killed by the Empire, and vengeance against Basch who he blames as Basch fled Landis for Dalmasca.

Even though his acts are evil, seeing as they were driven by guilt - and just revenge (argueable) - they are far more forgiveable. And then of course, he turns good in the end anyway. So if you want to argue that he's not a villain, I accept that. However, Ghis and Bergan were, and they rocked.

Seifer

Very similar to Gabranth in some ways. Not an evil hearted person, but loses out to his insecurties and ambitions of greatness. Of course, he turns good in the end when Edea dissapears and hes defeated, but he was an atagonist of the party for some time. His torture scene of Squall is a brillaint moment in FF history. Fujin and Rajin are cool too. :)

Beatrix, Golbez, Seifer, Gabranth and General Leo are all sub-villains that turn good. Now tell me those are not some awesome characters? And then there's Kuja of course. :)

I <3 Sub-villains.

FFIV - Rubicante. Especially in FFIVDS. Rubicante becomes such a badass in that, I wish he had more screentime though. >.<

FFV - Gilgameeeeesh!!! BEST VILLAIN EVAAAARRRRR (Except Kefka of course >.>). Had some good lines, and I was even kinda sad when he sacrificed himself after turning good. :<

FFVI - Ultros. Almost as good as Gilgy, but not quite.

FFVII - The Turks. I got quite attached to them, lol. Rude was cool, Tseng and Elena were okay, but Reno... heh, he was a badass. Fail @ AC's versions of them. Win @ them in Wutai.

FFVIII - Seifer. I actually have no clue why I like him, and yet... I can't help loving him. Not as much as the others in this list, but I still like him. Hell, he's one of the few FFVIII characters I actually do like. :\

Fujin and Raijin from VIII always make me laugh.
She barks out one word answers for everything and Raijin just says "ya know" a lot. And the scene after Squall and the others beat them at Balamb hotel, Fujin says "RUN" and kicks Raijin...histerical.

I think that the Turks would have been more effective if Tseng actually got his hands dirty and fought.
Reno and Rude did everything, Elena was a cheerleader and Tseng just stood wandered in and out of shots every now and then.

^ Yeah, half the time I forget that Tseng even exists. I'm still confused about what he's doing alive in AC. >.>
I could SWEAR he died at the Temple of the Ancients, hell, didn't Elena try and bitchslap me down a hill because I 'killed' him? >_<

...But anyway. And Elena's bleh.
But still, Reno and Rude are all they really need! =D
Those two have enough badassery for the entire team!

...Oh, and since I'm playing CC, I can't help mentioning Cissnei. She's hawt. >.>
