Which tactics is the best?
The only FFT i've ever played is FFTA and it was pretty good, very extensive though. I'm thinking about getting a final fantasy tactics game so which one do you think is the best?

RE: Which tactics is the best?
Well if you liked FFTA then I guess you would like FFTA2. though I never played any of those two so I don't know how good they are. FFT though is a great game with an amazing story and characters. The differences I heard about them is that FFT is a bit more mature I guess.

RE: Which tactics is the best?
Career Tactics come standard with your class -- you'll get these at various levels when you go to the trainer, as well as a few that you can buy with mastery points. They tend to have a very powerful impact on your character's abilities and are unique to your career.

RE: Which tactics is the best?
bit of a thread revival I know but ah well, seeing as only 2 others have posted I figured I'd throw in anyway. Having played several FFT games since meeting big Mike here and upon his much lauded praise of FFT WoL I decided to give these games a go, I consequentially discovered I love these games, the controls suit me and the story is generally pretty damn great. I much preferred the PSP remake over the PS1 great FFT. I found the added animated cut scenes in War of the Lions added to an already astounding story and made it that much better. Not an easy game by any means and definitely not something to be taken up by anyone who hasn't the perseverance to see it through.

I've also played FFTA on a GBA emulator and FFTA2 on the DS, I much preferred TA2 over TA. But if you're looking for other games in this genre please try Jeane D'Arc on the PSP if you have one, a very impressive game which I found nearly as great as FFT WoL. There is also Disgaea Afternoon of darkness and Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days both on the PSP and Disgaea 3 on the PS3. You could also try Front Mission, which in itself is an excellent game as well.

If you do have a PSP and would like to know more about how to unlock it, feel free to ask.

If you were simply looking for an FF related answer, then your choices are simply down to what consoles you own, handheld and otherwise. PSP; I'd say the remake, War of the Lions, DS; FFT Advance 2. There are no others on modern consoles that I know of.
