Gaia II - The Dawn of a New War

*(out of character)OOC: I'm sure everyone has read the RP rules, if not I suggest you do it. A few rules to take extra notice off though.

- NO killing of another persons character unless it is something you both agreed on. That also includes permantly disabeling someone csharacter. decapitation of limbs and so on or 10 minute long universe destroying spells.


- Your character is not a god. being able to withstand or dodge every attack is very unlikely and is considered godmodding. Stick to your character as you imagine him/her to be, but if you are going to god your way trhough the RP it wont be that fun for everyone else. Keep it "realistic".

The Gaian war was originally Prophet's RP, though in his abcense we, the remaining players did what we could and kinda took it over. Point is that during "The gaian war" RP several Historical events were made by the players. Even if they might not be brought up this time, they have still been made and they wont be changed or ignored.

-War between Demon and angels that ended 100 years ago. The ngel race won.
- The war with Tadyr that took place in "The gaian war" RP was never recorded in history books and are unknown to the world around that did not participate in this.

To get a better understanding of these events I recomend that you read through the "Gaian War" RP, though it can seem as alot to read, I think it will be well worth it. I've included a summary of these events in the preperations thread. Though it does not inlcude the details of the GW story.

I Have a storyline in mind here and an ending. Though how we get there and what happens inbetween is up to you (the players).

The story is set 5 years after the first GW and the events begin with the new threat of a human General spreading destruction along her path.

The night was cold yet the satisfaction that ran through he body as she looked upon the town before her was enough to keep her warm. The town was on fire as bodies were scattered on the ground. The blood ran along the streets.

Yet another town that had fallen by the hands of her army.

"M'lady." a tired soldier called as he rode up to his general. "The men are tired.. four villages in 2 days wear them out" The soldier said.

"Very well... We'll set up a camp on the field.. I suppose you have earned it." Selena answered the soldier, as she took a final glance at the burning village before turning her horse around to join up her army.

"Sayn.. You should return home and let us deal with this matter." A young man said.

It was late.. The palace was quiet and empty besides the patrolling guards.
Sayn was standing at a window, gazing out at the night.

"I know Michail.. And I would have done so sooner if you all werent so completly useless without me." he replied.

The man that was named Michail grabbed Sayns arm and pulled him through the room to the door.
"You selected us for a reason Sayn.. Now go home and let us do our job" Michail said he tossed Sayn out through the door.
with a tired smile he added "Goodnight Sayn" before closing the door.

Sayn chuckled as he began to walk down the corridoor.
Michail was the only one of the new council members that ever dared to tell off Sayn.
Sayn was indeed very happy with his choice of picking him for the council.. It added some backbone to it.

The night was cold as Sayn walked through the streets to his house. Summer was over and Sayn regreted the choice of not bringing any warmer clothes with him. Though the sight of the house he called home helped him ignore the chilling winds.

[Kikigurl]

Alena got up from beside the tree as she overlooked the carnage that Selena's army had created. Alena smiled as she knew everything was going as planned. Just then Alena's orb started to glow fire red.

"Yes Master, I know..." Alena said back to the mysterious glowing orb as if she was contacting someone.

Alena mounted her horse and rode to where Selena and her army was.

Sophie looked down at the clock and realized that it was probably going to be another late night for Sayn again.

"Lucas!" Sophie said as she looked for their son.

"In here mom!" Lucas shouted from the play room. "Is it bed time already?"

"Afraid so dear." Sophie smiled.

"But dad isn't even home yet." Lucas whinnied as he dragged his feet back to his bedroom.

"I know but you have school tomorrow..." Sophie said as she tucked him into his bed and kissed him on the head.

"I love you mom!" Lucas said with a big smile.

Sophie smile back as she rubbed his head. "I love you too dear."

Sophie walked out of Lucas' room, walked back down the stairs and picked up some papers she was given by Leo the head noble. Sophie walked over to the couch and sat down.

"Hmmmm..." Sophie thought to herself as she read over the papers.

Just then Sophie's mind began to wander as she started thinking about recent events. Sophie shook her head as she didn't want to let her mind wander again. Ever since she used the anti lore five years ago she has developed the ability to see in the near future. It seems to only happen though when her mind begins to wander. When it does happen though, it causes Sophie great pain, which is why she decided to try to not use it.

"Gotta keep myself occupied." Sophie thought to herself as she continued to read over her papers.

[Roxas]

Sayn opened the door and walked in to the house where he lived with Sophie.
He immedietly saw her as she was standing with her back against him reading a paper.

This oppurtunity was too good to let it slip away. Sayn sneaked over to Sophie as quiet as he could. Just as he was two steps away Sophie made it known that she was aware that he was home.

"Hello sayn" She said still reading the paper.

Sayn sighed as he took the last step up to Sophie and slid his arms around her waist as he rested his chin on her shoulder "So.. what are you reading?" He asked with the sound of defeat in his voice.

[Kikigurl]

"So.. what are you reading?" Sayn asked with the sound of defeat in his voice.

"Ohhh, just something Leo gave me to read about Selena's recent advances." Sophie said as she turned around to face Sayn.

"Glad to see you home Sayn, how is everything going with the council?" Sophie said as she gave Sayn a kiss. "By the way, I just put Lucas to bed... he was pretty sad he missed you tonight."

[The Whacko]

A small Magi village burned bright in the night sky as coloumns of greasey smoke rose above the fires, and the smell of blood and burning flesh filled the air. The villagers lay strewn across the streets, mutiliated and many partialy eaten. From the small hilltop overlooking the village, a party of fur-clad warriors who's faces had been tattooed into hidious devil masks watched as two Angels were dragged to a makeshift altar. Several demons stood amoung the warriors, grinning wickedly. But one figure stood away from the group, looking over the destruction. He was a tall, hulking demon in frost-silver armor, his face concealed by a steel helmet, and he hefted a massive claymore that seemed to give off a strange heat wave.

"Behold!" a raspy voice shouted, catching the armored demon's attention. The speaker was a human who's face was hidden behind an animal skull, leaving only his crazed and bloodshot eyes exposed. The other humans and demons looked intently at the scene before them. Two men held down an Angel while the speaker, apparently a shaman of some sorts, drew a wickedly curved dagger.

"I offer these Angels' hearts as a token of our dedication to our king and god, Eliphas!" he bellowed, then looked down at the terrified Angel. With a cruel slowness, he casualy brought the dagger down to his victem's chest, cutting into the flesh. After a few moments, he extracted the heart from the Angel's chest, holding it high into the air before throwing it into a small fire. Then, after a roar of applause from the demons and warriors, he repeated the proccess on his second prisoner, extracting her heart with a savage intent, then adding it to the fire. The demon lord, Eliphas, grinned wickedly under his helmet.

"Good, good, I am pleased, my devoted servants..."

(Yep, he killed a whole village for two Angels.)

[Roxas]

"Glad to see you home Sayn, how is everything going with the council?" Sophie said as she gave Sayn a kiss. "By the way, I just put Lucas to bed... he was pretty sad he missed you tonight."

Sayn gave sophie a kiss before he turned and walked towrds Lucas room. "They are doing their job.. I guess.. Michail threw me out... again" He said before opening the door to Lucas room. He quietly walked to the bed and sat down on it.

Lucas opened his eyes and turned his head. "Dad?" he asked with a tired voice.
"I'm here kid." Sayn replied as he stroked Lucas hair.

"go back to sleep Lucas.. I'll be here when you wake tomorow" Sayn said.

Lucas eyed closed as he nodded. "you promise?" he asked.

"yeah.. I promise.. and I'll skip work tomorow.. alright?" Sayn asked

"yeah... and the day after.. and the day after that....... and the day afte.." Lucas said as he drifted off into sleep.

[Zephiris]

The brightness blinded Gabriel. It was so bright that he shouldn't be able to look at it directly. Shouldn't, because he can't move his eyelids, no matter how hard he tries to will it. It was dreadful, at least, that was what Gabriel had though, though he did came to acceptance at a later point.

Nonetheless, something was changing. The usual warmth suddenly began to transform into coolness. The brightness dimmed, and Gabriel felt control returning to him. What had really happened? As this question came to mind, he couldn't help recalling how he apparently got here in the first place.

As he thought of this, he sighed heavily. Then, realization came to him. Did he just sigh out aloud? He tried to move his hands. To his amazement, they did as he willed it too. Opening his eyes, he couldn't help grinning. It certainly feels good to be able to see.

Yet something felt different. Power, it seems to be flowing through his very veins this instant. What happened? Shaking away the thought, he looked around, scrutinizing his surroundings. Lush greenery, a tall, white color wall.

Grinning, he muttered,"Falador huh?"

Then, he suddenly remembered his comrades. "Oh yes. Sophie, Sayn. What happened to them?" He wondered aloud. "Well, now that I'm back here, I best go to Karamja. Maybe my father can mobilize the guards!"

As he said that, he revealed his 4 wings and took off, headed for Karamja.

OOC Wrote:Don't be shocked. Remember Gabriel had been literally in 'coma' for a good 5 years. He's out of touch with current events at the moment.

The crimson moon lit up the hill in a feint red, the night was cold and lifeless around him.

He leaned against his blade wich was stuck in the ground below him, a few puffs of smoke escaped his mouth as he took to his most favoured tobacco.
He was always like this after a battle, savoring the moment he called it. Most people would simply call it morbid as the grounds around him were littered with the bodies of human soldiers.

"I wonder if this is alright..." he asked himself as he inhaled some more smoke from his cigarette.

The soldiers were but a simple 10 man recon platoon, weaklings who due to their lack of power sought other means to excert some authority. While they apears as knights clad in silver, there is nothing holy about these men. they are devious, lecherous scumbags who don't deserve better than to be slaughtered.

"guess it's time to move on" he said as stood up after putting out his cigarette and picked up his sword. Swiftly sheathing it behind his back he began to walk forward into the darkness. He didn't know where he was but he saw the lights of a town up ahead, a few more miles were nothing for him, he wandered for 4 days straight since he got on shore and even fought ten armored soldiers just a half hour ago.

"I sure hope they got beer" he said.

Ragna's tale began there.

[Kae]

"My carriage has arrived, is there anything else before I leave?"
"No. I'm coming with you."
Rayena froze at the door of her superior's rooms, her long tresses of hair coming to rest along her elbows. "Huh?"
"I said I'm coming with you." Gaise stood up from the chair at his desk and gestured at the traveling pack at his feet.
"But... Wha...?"
Gaise shook his head, stray strands of black hair obscuring some of his eyes as he did so. "Don't let any students see you babbling like that. I will be traveling with you to the Seers' Village. Which part are you having difficulty with?"
This was weird, she thought to herself. He never leaves the Guild except for, like, seriously important stuff. She crossed her arms and scratched her left forearm absently. "What about the students?"
"I've instructed them to train for the week, ready to be thoroughly tested when I return."
"But... Why?"
He raised one ebony eyebrow slightly in amusement. "You sound almost horrified that I'll be coming. But anyway," his gaze shifted back to a map he had been studying on his desk, and he reached out, trailing one finger along the northern coast of Kandarin. "Some.... friends of mine in McGrubor's Wood haven't reported in some time. Last I heard, Selena was poking her toe over the line nearby. I'd like to... catch up." He looked up at her again, challenging her with his oddly colored eyes to question him. She felt uneasy, but did so anyway.
"By friends you mean spies, and by catch up, take reports?" She was scratching her arm faster now, not that she noticed.
The edges of his lips curled in a dangerous semi-smile. "Yes. While I am in the Wood, you will stay in the Seers' Village. I still expect your report, too."
She sighed and dropped her arms to her sides. Looking for potential recruits was so boring. Nearly every town she came to were throwing their sons at her, begging her to take them in the hope that they would bring fame to the family, and if she came across any skilled daughters, they usually refused to give them up. She never really did get affairs like that, and wasn't bothered trying to understand it either.
Gaise cleared his throat quietly, and she snapped back to her senses. He'd picked up his traveling pack, crossed the room and now stood waiting for her to leave first without her even noticing. She gave a non-committal shrug, even though she knew it was obvious he'd startled her. Turning on the spot, she sauntered off to the carriage leaving him to lock up his rooms. A whole day sitting in an uncomfortable carriage with her stern and sometimes cranky boss... She gave small huff as she stepped into the daylight, the black carriage directly to her left.
If he's going to be a wet blanket the whole trip, she thought as she pulled herself into her seat disturbing the two black horses pulling, I'll give back as good as I get.

[The Whacko]

The raiding party led by Eliphas and the fanatic Irvon was only one of a dozen such groups in the region, each leaving a bloody trail of slaughter in their wake. Within three days, five villages had been burned to the ground, the inhabitants slaughtered and all Angels hiding within them had been ritualy sacrificed, their hearts cut from their chests and thrown to the altar fires. Word soon spread of this merciless savagery, of warriors which no one could identify, and of the demons that traveled with the marauders. The Karandese Crusade had begun.
