Final Fantasy Activa info thread

The rage in Bahamut's eyes was very distinct, never before had he heard such insolence. His lips cracked with words, "Mere scuttling urchin depraved in his inequity and forsaken by the holy brethern of Ivalice, how now do you say that we ought to become as a fondled breast for all those whom are to worship us, fully, by our birthright in legend and images of power?"

I stood before Bahamut, my Ultima Spear locked into one arm. Afraid to speak, but knowing that I must, now, or forever would the world of Ivalice close it's doors on the spirit of my phantasy. Looking to Bahamut, I prayed that my voice was not as insolent as my gaze, for I knew that I was once again becoming haughty, so long thinking to be the very god of phantasy.

"O Bahamut, Activa is not about petty minds seeking to conquer all the glorious details of Ivalice and the worlds of SquareEnix. For verily, if now, we stand as a army of mind united under the purpose of creation, Ivalice, and all it's titans of earth and steel, shall be revered and given creed. From the soul of Cloud, there shall come to be one thousand swordsmen, each with an Omnislash Blade. From the soul of Aeris, Ivalice shall be saved by the force who knows that soul, truly, who loves it as though she really did die, but would never, ever, be forgotten. Bahamut! Loan unto me your strength, for now, I stand before the Judges, and there is yet a Sephiroth in waiting." Bowing my head away, my arm would shift to clasp both hands together. Hope... would Ivalice become a world of the true astral, was this it's destiny as we all strive to know and understand and enjoy the life of this epic fiction?

Bahamut would sneer. "Do not be foolish. Men of your world are not interested in such things as phantasy, fiction, nor of the sacred arts of creation. So many are so faithless, so many evil ones seeking to glorify the image of the dark saint. You yourself! How dare you come to me speaking of Activa, when Activa is nothing more than a game played and a game denied it's reality! You speak of creation, knowing not what it means to create something, to bare that eternal obligation. Go from me, leave in peace without another word. Be blessed to know that I remember you, Chad, and that I myself have heard Aeris's prayer."

I would pause for a moment, not wanting to bow in fear of the wrath of the dragon. Turning, I would leave the Star Tower's pinnacle. Casting Float, I would walk among the heavens for what seemed a moment in freedom, then came down to where Vaan was waiting.

"What did he say? Did he give you permission?" Vaan rubbed his nose, then hung his arms loosely at his sides.

"Bahamut... does not entirely agree with our situation. But there is another, Vaan? Will you come with me?"

Vaan shrugged a bit. "I guess so, but, where are we going? It's a little late to talk to Odin, you know how mad he was."

I would smile to Vaan. "In the legends of my world, Vaan, all those names which the espers of Ivalice bare are scrawled somewhere in our own unique legends. It is my assumption that their use in the world of Ivalice is not intended as a blasphemy, that it is, in fact, while not entirely of reverence, a means to educate the curious and the wise alike. We go to Shiva, goddess of Ice."

Vaan rolled his eyes a bit, but never quite stopped looking at me. "Shiva? Ok Chad, if that's what you want to do, then we'll do it! So, tell me more about Activa?"

We began to walk the Feywood, searching for the next portal of lands.

"Activa can be many things. It is the ultimate expansion set for any game. In my original theory, it was required that the game itself is not used, but those who have mastered the game, commiting it's every detail and motion to memory, would then Embrace Ivalice, and create the world of their phantasy according to their own imagination and capacities in magick. It was seen that the games have a more powerful effect, for, when a man conjoins his heart to the cybergeddons, his power of vision increases in speed, depth, and intensity. In mind, while he is engrossed in the dark auric acts of shadow and myst, there, his former faith in holy life will succumb, and thereby through force of the game and power of the heart's wielding, there is a revelation made, and an adventure that creates a soul according to it's attainment, never in a state of degradation."

We would continue for some time, Vaan complaining that it didn't make any sense, why not just use your imagination, or just practice the real arcane arts, learn psionics, anything but phantasy with this world that can only end in ruin.

So this is an overdramified highly symbolic explanation of how activa would work. I hope you understand, ask any questions in this thread, and any input you may have. Activa isn't a concrete idea, it is highly flexible, largely unmapped, and we don't actually have to get into crazy statistic recording and stuff like that. It's wide open. If you want to play Cloud, though, or Vaan or any of the characters, I'd say that we HAVE to alter the characters that we assume the mold of. But we could always have the characters involved in our storylines, it's like, you pick one character in the game, whichever game, and that's who you'll be in the Ivalice Expanded World. You may also opt to use actual meditation, real life phantasy creationism, and visualize the environments of the game in a more realistic fashion, surrounding yourself and attuning your aura to these worlds. This may be dangerous, as you yourself must sustain that aura and plane. But the idea is, enough of us sit in 7th Heaven, drinking beer, eventually, we will make psychic contact. And if we ever go full trance, we may really meet each other spiritually. This isn't Satanism, ok, just so it's clarified, this is about the limitless possibilities of Void and Creation, how it's not just a single Universe, Universe itself is a Multiverse, and beyond this, everything exists, Existence Is An Omniverse.

FF7 is Ivalice, isn't it? I thought that's what it said in Advent Children. Maybe not though, it's been awhile.

But yeah, make believe and all that, yeah, they always convince children that it's just for children. Little do most people realize that using your imagination and creativity is vital to mental and spiritual growth. Don't think of it as make believe, think of it more like 'an act of creating reality'. It's not about ladeedaa ooh I'm the ultimate swordsman, I mean really, the proper way to do it involves several hours of meditation a day, in which you actually go into full trance, and enter the real world astral side of life, and do cool stuff. It's not all pretend, there are real spiritual considerations here, but also, many ways for the more average and uninterested or faithless person to enjoy the game whilst taking part in the thrillingness of text rp.

I've said for quite a while, 'the effect is based primarily on the intensity of the delusions'. But I'm not talking delusions like, 'my wank is bigger because it looks bigger to me' or some bs like that. LIke, there's tons of delusions. You want to be able to pick your delusion, and pursue it until it becomes a reality. There is a correspondence here with actual magick, in that you create or will to manifest a reality that becomes the primary mode of reality, once attained.

On the gamer end of it, playing the game where you are doing stuff like, torturing the enemies with status effects, or other stuff, for instance, with the status effects, you could 'pretend' that you are a scientist, working for the Shinra, or someone else, a rival corporation, and you are testing the effects of Blind and Poison on a specific type of enemy, possibly, chocobos. So you'd go into the game zone and find the enemies, and you could actually test that stuff, seeing how blind effects the various enemies, seeing what their hit percent rate is once blinded and before.

But yeah, I guess I could continue the story, in my sick world of phantasy and shadow, Vaan and I have become great friends. Of course, it is just pretend, I haven't taken FF12 to the extent that I took Chrono Trigger, where I was actually merging my mind with the game.

Maybe you're thinking of FFX? That takes place in the same world universe/galaxy/dimensiony-thing as FFVII.

IIRC, the only other games that take place in Ivalice are the Tactics games.
Actually, I remember doing something like this years ago, lol. I didn't type it all up or anything, but while I was playing some RPG I gave myself some other role and pretended I was... well, doing whatever I was doing. Can't even remember the game now. XD

Hey, did you like doing it? Fantasy?? Ha ha. Want to do it, come on, it's just like the Telepod. And you'll actually like, warp into a different, maybe, you'll go astral. Ha ha. Holy too phoney, just a bunch of garbage or what, but really, it's healthy.

I never typed mine out before either. I wanted to have a few more skills than just, well, what rp is, so I actually developed my mind. But I've lost that in recent years, maybe I should go and meditate right now? Maybe I need surgery. Ha ha. Yeah, today, I was playing FF7, and, I was inside Gaea's Cliff. So I had a couple battles, people were dying, so I refit my characters. Gave Cloud all the Blue Materia, on weapon Organics :: Elemental+Ramuh/ oh hell I can't remember now. There was a time when I remembered every materia combination that I made, for every character. Guess I'm not as into it anymore. Or stuff's missin.

Want to try it with FF Tactics, Fantasy? If you know your sign, or a sign you want to pretend to be, like, if you were born today in Ivalice, or reborn, or whatever. And with these games, there is always a limited degree of customization, so, you decide who you are, especially with FFT. Then we'll set up a real time thread, and play the game and update it regularily. Moments of battle, and other things. Making notes on play style, choices made, there is always more choice than options, it would seem. You should, to do it right, have a note book where you mark your gil income and expenditures and stuff, any gameplay techniques that you are using. Player stats as they level up, items they were, and this sort of thing. Could be very satisfying.

I mean, the whole thing of what I'm saying may sound kind of retarded, because it may be what some people do already, but in my case, I've never done it with the game in action as I'm on the internet. Orgy, anyone? But no, really, like, yeah, ok, if nobody wants to do it with me, I guess I'm by myself on this one. But if it's like Ephemeral says, maybe it would be worth it for me to do just to share it with somebody, if someone reads it.

XD. I really can't remember if I liked doing it, I would've only been about 7 or something, I'm guessing.
Closest thing I guess I do now is, while playing games like Star Wars Battlefront, I sometimes like to give my soldier a little backstory in my head. Nothing big, just a quick backstory for the hell of it, makes it more interesting to me. But that doesn't really affect gameplay or anything, so meh.

There was once a time when I could remember things from the Harry Potter books, remembering exactly what page they happened on. No more.

I don't have FFT, unfortunately. Just the two FFT:Advance games. >.<

One of the makers (can't remember who now) confirmed that FFVII isn't set in Spira, but it IS set in the same universe or something as FFX.

As for FFIX, isn't that Gaia or something like that? Or am I getting words mixed up..? >.>

Anyway how can they say VII is in the same universe as X.
Who cares, it's not a real universe and it's not as if they are going to make those two worlds colide in one great big epic FF war of the worlds thing now are they?
