The Best List of Final Fantasy Characters

After a very dissapointing top 25 FF characters by IGN, in which their selected top 5 were all from Ff7, I thought I'd make this thread to see if this forum are as dumb as the people who voted on the site.

I'm not saying that FF7 has bad characters! I made a top 10 characters video on Youtube and there was two in it at 3rd and 5th, so don't freak out. I just think that there are a lot of great games in the series that have hugely underated characters. Anyway, choose away.

I advise that we consider quality over quantity. For example, lets say one game has 12 characters, and you like 7 of them. If theres a game with 6 characters and you like all 6 of them, you should choose the second game.

This list INCLUDES NON PLAYABLE CHARACTERS! Remember that.

Well I picked FFIX not only because i am madly in love with the gam, it's just that there are no characters there than I don't like.

of course I like alot of characters from other FF's, it''s just that I fell on love with the characters from FFIX in the instant while for other games I had to learn to love them.

I went with FF6 of course! I thought all the characters were well developed, great villain and even the characters that weren't playable were great. Such as General Leo, I mean he was such a great character. Made me wish I could of had him in my party!!

Mabye I'm just bias because it's my favorite!

I agree. I have played all the FF's (for as least a while) and by far 6 is still my favorite. for playable characters it had the one man wrecking crew of Sabin. AND the one man wrecking crew of Cyan. As well all of the other chatacters could be made to kick ass. where as some games and some characters *coughcaitsithcough* just plain suck *coughYuffiecough*...funny, I seem to be coming down with a- *COUGHRydiaSelphieQuinaVaanTheWholeCastOfFinalFantasyXAndX-2ExceptWakaCOUGH*...a cold... anyway. Like I was saying every character from FFVI was awesome and powerful in their own way

For me FF7 and FF8 were very close in comparison... but I chose 8 because i love the story so much... but this is a char's poll... so maybe i shouldve chosen 7 -_-... lol anyways I really loved the development in squall's char and selphie was a really outgoing and perky girl. wish they wouldve have had her and quistis and even zell more in the story. Each character was very deep even zell at some points imo. But all in all, i believe all the FF8 Characters were great.

Huh? I liked ff8 very mucy..but "each character was very deep"?

How exactly do you get that? It was pretty much squall and rinoa stealing the camera 98% of the time. THey could have done so much with the quistis storyline but chose not to, aside from the odd line about how she liked squall

selphie...pretty much had no lines same for generic cowboy guy

I vote for VI, with IX in a very close second.

Honestly, I love IX's characters a lot more, but they don't have as much involvement in the story as VI. Also, every character in VI is forced to play a part at one point or another. That combined with the sheer number of characters makes for a fun experience. Whereas, all the other FFs, you could just use your three or four favorites the whole game, and never see any of the others.

I have to mention VII because it had great characters. They're not as developed as one could hope, but the amount of potential they had makes them so memorable for the player, and the amount left to the imagination allows you to create something of your own in your head even though they weren't that deep in the actual context of the game.

Wow, Im surprised. I was expecting a whole bunch in VII, but there isnt. :D
I think VI had a variety of diverse characters. You got to see some people's past, like Shadow, or Cyan, Locke, and others. And they all made connections with others, so it felt like little cliques for the groups sometimes. You also could individually find them all again, sometimes finding them in something that is familiar to their past or lifestyle/actions.

So I say VI as the best characters. :)

I also agree with what Yuki said about IX following, though my favorites of FF are those 2 switched. :D

It's a close tie for 6 and 12 for me.

I went with 12 simply because I felt the WHOLE cast was much more solid. Nobody came close to touching Kefka.

...I would love to know how you can't see how VIII does that 10x better.
