Free at last!
Does any think that a while from now Final Fantasy 11 monthy fee will ever be free? That would be awesome. Or they just make a free user account with less features?

I'm 99.9% sure that it will never be free. All serious MMOs, with possibly the one exception "Guild Wars", require a monthly fee. This isn't out of greed or anything, it's due to the nature of the game. MMO servers need constant repair and maintenance and the company need to employ staff to play in-game and deal with players requesting support on certain issues. With this in mind, it wouldn't be fair imo to pay just a single one-off fee.

Let's face it though... the money is nothing... £9 a month... even if you have a minimum-wage job or you're on the dole or whatever, it's still just pocket money.

True. Your currentcy is different from mine. It's $12.95 in USA but I'm sure it's the same when you convert it.

Either way. Thats only a little over three bucks a week.

12.95? you pay less. 12.95 converted is roughly about £6.50-ish. 2 odd quid less. you got a pretty fair deal actually. though you in america do have thats stupid sh1t sales tax added on afterwards. here if something on the shelf says .99p thats all you pay. in the usa if it says .99c on the shelf at the till you end up paying like 1.08 or something near that. ridiculous, its like you're being charged for walking around in the shop.....

I think it's right we pay for it anyways, they update it ALOT and the servers are pretty good.
