This thread is meant for those of you who feel like discussing recent game purchases and while I will personally be listing from a collector's point of view doesn't mean those of you who don't collect should feel left out. If you've picked up some games recently and feel like letting us know then by all means go ahead, a little motivation for buying the games in particular would be very interesting as well so go nuts here.

This thread is meant for your recent purchases only, no need to list your full collections here and keep the discussions about games you are playing right now for the other existing thread on that subject.

So without further ado, here's what I got recently:

Guilty Gear 2 Overture.

This was a christmas present, I've tried it and so far it looks interesting but nothing all that spectacular, it was on my wish list since I'm a huge fan of guilty gear but I'm not sure what to think of this one yet. I'll find out once I get to it but I don't have much hope for this new direction the series is taking.

Bayonetta.

This is basically Devil May Cry with a woman's touch, and what a woman it is! first time I popped this sucker in I was pretty psyched, having developped a weird kind of love for the hack 'n' slash genre over the years I gotta say this one shows promise, I never play too far into games that I'm just trying out but I gotta say i'm looking forward to playing this for real.

Magna Carta 2.

I won't lie, I loved the first game, many loathed it because of the quirky battle system wich revolved around perfect timing in button combination sequences but if you got past that you could enjoy a great game with a great story, Magna Carta 2 abolishes the battle system from the previous game and makes way for a more action oriented system and from what I've seen this one shows a LOT of promise, looking to be a great RPG indeed and you just gotta love Hyung Tae Kim's art, he's without a doubt one of my favourite art designers.

Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua.

This one's a pure collection item, the game was never released outside Japan and since this is a PS2 port of the original PC game wich I already own, the main reason I bought this is because the translation patch released by mirrormoon allows you to extract the voices from the PS2 disc and install them to work on the PC game. Nifty little extra for a die hard Fate/Stay Night fan like myself.

Revelations: Persona.

A collection piece, I popped this in and took it out 5 minutes later, this game is not for me but more on that later. This thing is hard to find in mint condition but I managed to get a passable copy of it. I'm happy with this one but...

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona.

A remake of the previous one for PSP, I've given this game a shot over the past weeks and personally I hate it, the graphics are extremely dated and did not age well, and the first person dungeon crawling is just rediculous, environments are ugly and the persona system is just too much hassle for a game wich offers no enjoyable rewards for dealing with it. The encounter rate is obscene, you fight a battle every 3 seconds I sh1t you not, Xenogears had a high encounter rate but this is crazy. Overall this game is not for me, I'll keep it for collection value but I'm not touching this ever again.

Now for the rest I won't put up a picture as I bought these to brush up my current PSX collection:

Final Fantasy 7 Black label.

Yes I admit it, For the past 12 years or so I have owned a platinum version of this game, I always found it to be horendous and it really ruined the view on my shelf. A black label version of this game isn't THAT expensive so I figured before the prices go up, I'd pick one up and now I finally own this game black label.

Final Fantasy 8 Black label.

This one I had black label, but to be honest, I don't like the european covers too much, white BG with the logo might seem cool to some people but to me, I preffer the american cover much more, I still have the euro version and won't be getting rid of it since euro saves don't work with american games and wouldn't wanna lose all the work I poured in this game.

Final Fantasy Tactics Black label.

Same deal as with FFVII, I owned the greatest hits version, I thought Platinum was bad but if I had to choose between a grey box or a flue green one, I'd go for grey lol. Still this was a bargain so I picked up the original black label anyway.


Well that's it for now, I got more stuff on the way so i'll list that when it gets here. So let's see what you guys got recently don't be shy now. Oh and for the record, if you want black label FF games, be careful on ebay, there's a scam going on where sellers are taking black label cases but put greatest hits CDs inside, they ARE different, look it up if you're not certain. Always buy games from sellers who use an actual picture of what they're selling and not a stock photo, you never know what you'll get when you buy those.]]>

The Night was warm, yet cool from yesterdays rain.
Sayn made his way through the trees and closer to the village.
Sophie had warned him from going.. But of course, he had to see it for himself. The Unekeh cult had been growing larger for each day and had now even begun to show themself on the streets of Shilo.

With amazing stealth as he had put it, he moved past trees and bushes untill he could spy the village that lied down the slope.
It was quiet, and not many people walked the streets. From the look of it, it seemed just like normal. Crawling a few feets closer, he felt a surprising pain in his head as his vision turned dark.

His moans echoed through the room has he moved over her. His body glistened in the moonlight as he began to grunt and shudder.

The room reeked of pure animalistic lust, as the woman below him did nothing to stop his domination over her, nor did she do anything to encourage him. She laid there, accepting his lustic needs to be released in her.

The man made one last grunt as his body tensed and spasm'd before collapsing ontop of the soul below him.

"Kai..." a voice called out as the tired Kai rolled off from his latest conquest and gazed at the window where his brother sat.

"I think you should deal with this yourself..." His brother Rufil said, eyeing the woman next to Kai with a gloomy look.

"Is that so?" Kai said in between his heavy breathing.

"Well, let's have a look then" he said, crawling out of his mothers well used bed. Like a monkey he made his way to the window, crawling over several bodies that lied mutilated on the floor.
He stopped as he passed next to his brother, a wide grin on his face.

"You want her.. Don't you?" Kai asked in a mocking tone before leaping out on the street below. His laughter echoed up in his brother Rufil's ear.

"Did he hurt you?" Rufil asked the woman who was now sitting up, giving him a feint smile.

"No... He was quite gentle this time..." She replied to him as she reached for her dress on the bedside.

"Why do you let him do this to you?" He asked her with a sad voice.

"I love him.. And he needs it.." she said, putting on the blue dress.
"If it relieves him from even the slightest of pain that he feels, then I will gladly give myself to him.. And besides.. It's only my body." she continued while slowly approaching Rufil.

"Does it hurt you so much to see me with him?" she asked him.
"I..." he did not have the time to answer, before she wrapped her arms around him.

"Are you also in pain, my dear brother?"
"It's wrong Milena.." He said, reaching his arms around her.

Sayn slowly woke up when he felt the rain on his, his vision was slightly blurry and could barely make out the face infront of him.

"I know you..." Kai said as crawled closer to Sayn's face.
"We met.. 7 years ago.. Your the father of that freak.. " he continued.

"W-who are you?" Sayn asked as he tried to move but was restrained by ropes tied around his limbs and body.
Slowly his vision got clearer and he could see the face of the man before him.

"Oh right.. We never had the chance to get to know eachother.." Kai replied mockingly.

"Though I am sure you are more acquainted with my mother.. "

"M-miria.." sayn exclaimed, his eyes growing larger.

"you're.. Kai?" he asked.

"Yes!" Kai giggled as he launched over Sayn embracing him with a hug.

"Say.. Since you and my mother were soo good friends.. Could it be, that.. You are my daddy?" Kai asked, his eyes looking like a sad child.

"what? No!" sayn said, trying to shake Kai off. In a fit of giggles and mad laughter, Kai rolled off on to his back kicking his legs in the air.

"Oh man, that was priceless." he then said as he got back up, mud running across his body.

"Why did you come here?" Kai asked, as he went over to Sayns spear that was resting next to a nearby tree. He ran his fingers along it, before grabbing it by the pole.

"You know.. I don't really care.." he said turning around towards sayn.

"And don't give me those eyes.." he contined as he made his way back to Sayn, the spear dragging acros the muddy ground.

"I know what you think of me.. I know your kind.." Kai said, his tone becoming more and more aggravated.

"It was YOUR kind that threw us out of the paradise.. You believe yourself to be of a higher specie than us?" he spat out.

"You're all pathetic, and you will all burn for an eternity once he arrives..."

"You're mad.." Sayn whispered out as his eyes caught the attention of two more angels walking up to them.. An armor clad man, and a woman.. No she was bearly a small girl..

Following his eyes, Kai saw as Rufil and Milena Approached them.
With a growl and clenched teeth, he returned his eye to Sayn. His grip on the spear became tighter.

"YOU CAN'T HAVE HER!!" He shout out as he raised the spear above his head and slammed it down through Sayn's chest.

The incredible pain that shot through Sayn's body, faded off as he began to shake. Again he could feel his eyes growing heavy and his vision becoming Dark.

Basic plotline:
The world has changed.

7 years have passed since the fall of the Omega Temple and Armagus. The races of Gaia have joined together to rebuild their world.
The humans, angels and Magi now band together like never before and a sense of peace has filled the land,
though for some it is an empty reward for all the hardships they endured.

The magi now roam the lands, forsaking their once grande cities and
choosing a nomadic lifestyle while the angels and humans chose to rebuild their homes.

However, darkness still looms... Demons still roam the lands, leaderless and more savage than ever. And a shadow brews in the eastern continent,
where exiled beings gather together to fulfill an ancient prophecy...

Major Map changes.

Angel Capital in Karamja: home to the angels who are slowly rebuilding their once glorious city.

Ardougne: Left in ruins, they serve as a silent reminder of a city lost to the flames of war

Yanille: same fate, though some magi have settlements here

Chaos Temple: renamed to Demon Lord's Fall, the temple ruins and the area surrounding it have been suffering from blight ever since the death of demon lord Tadyr, the area is inaccesible since the remnant energies still linger there to this day.

Falador: Human capital has since been moved to Shilo. Now home to Torran and Selena with the barbarians and a few loyal followers to Selena.

Shilo: Acting as the capital of all the free people of Gaia


Basic Rules ***-READ THEM-*** (We are not held responsible for your banning because you didn't read the rules. Actually.. Read them twice and remember. Don't be a whacko.)

1: Character usage: Characters are exclusive property to their owners, as such they can only be used by their owner unless given special permission to another player but seeing as this rule has caused some confusion in the past, we will implement a system where the owner may contact one of the GMs if they will be abscent for a long period of time and notify them of possible plans they have for their characters, GMs will then either control the character or, depending on the duration of the player's abscence, put the character on fake death status (fake death status will only be implemented when player takes a serious amount of time off).

2: Godmodding: You do it you get banned, simple as that. There will be no talks or debates about this, your characters are set in a fantasy world and will be approved by the GMs, going past their abilities is forbidden unless given specific approval by the GMs, We will be taking extra time to make sure this rule is enforced at all times so in short, if you do something your character is not capable of doing according to his bio you will be reprimanded.

3: World events: Gaia is owned by the GMs, as such doing something that affects Gaia requires permission from the GMs, this ranges from invading a town to destroying Gaia completely. This is a new rule but please keep it in mind, if you want to alter Gaia you need permission.

4: Flashback usage: don't be excessive, you can have a flashback sequence if necesary but don't make it a point to include a flashback in every post you make, also mark them with tags.

5: Power restrictions: This may seem the same as godmodding but it mainly deals with usage of specific powers, keep these in mind when you post up bios.

-Teleportation: not allowed unless used for travel, will also take time to recover from now on so in and out sequences are prohibited. No teleporting in front of your enemy's face, mock them and teleporting out.

-Regeneration: Only allowed for upper class demons, other characters need permission from the GMs and need a good reason to have this power so keep that in mind.

-life and death: as the character's owner you are of course allowed to have it killed, however reviving a dead character (even your own) needs permission, no one aside from the almighty holds the power over life and death, the almighty being the GMs.

-mountain moving: same as the world event rule, you change the face of Gaia, you need permission.

*The GM's can and will add new rules as the RP is progressing. If that would happen we will let you know in this thread.*

Race Details

-Humans
The non-magic users amongst all the 4 races. However, they make up for this with superior weapons and armour, and their trump card- technology.

-Magi
The strongest magic user amongst all the races. However, they have very weak physical immunity, being unable to withstand amounts of physical hurt that the other races might find meagre.

-Angels
Said to be the most beautiful race of all. Radiating a light of their own, they appear to be strong and almighty, but that is actually a facade.

Their magical abilities is probably second to the demons, which puts them a mark below them. However, they make up for it with intensive training to make the stronger and faster warriors.

Their wings are heavily utilized to this purpose, and throughout the years, their skills are considered to be the strongest of the races..

-Demons

Basic plotline:
The world has changed.

7 years have passed since the fall of the Omega Temple and Armagus. The races of Gaia have joined together to rebuild their world.
The humans, angels and Magi now band together like never before and a sense of peace has filled the land,
though for some it is an empty reward for all the hardships they endured.

The magi now roam the lands, forsaking their once grande cities and
choosing a nomadic lifestyle while the angels and humans chose to rebuild their homes.

However, darkness still looms... Demons still roam the lands, leaderless and more savage than ever. And a shadow brews in the eastern continent,
where exiled beings gather together to fulfill an ancient prophecy...

Major Map changes.

Angel Capital in Karamja: home to the angels who are slowly rebuilding their once glorious city.

Ardougne: Left in ruins, they serve as a silent reminder of a city lost to the flames of war

Yanille: same fate, though some magi have settlements here

Chaos Temple: renamed to Demon Lord's Fall, the temple ruins and the area surrounding it have been suffering from blight ever since the death of demon lord Tadyr, the area is inaccesible since the remnant energies still linger there to this day.

Falador: Human capital has since been moved to Shilo. Now home to Torran and Selena with the barbarians and a few loyal followers to Selena.

Shilo: Acting as the capital of all the free people of Gaia


Basic Rules ***-READ THEM-*** (We are not held responsible for your banning because you didn't read the rules. Actually.. Read them twice and remember. Don't be a whacko.)

1: Character usage: Characters are exclusive property to their owners, as such they can only be used by their owner unless given special permission to another player but seeing as this rule has caused some confusion in the past, we will implement a system where the owner may contact one of the GMs if they will be abscent for a long period of time and notify them of possible plans they have for their characters, GMs will then either control the character or, depending on the duration of the player's abscence, put the character on fake death status (fake death status will only be implemented when player takes a serious amount of time off).

2: Godmodding: You do it you get banned, simple as that. There will be no talks or debates about this, your characters are set in a fantasy world and will be approved by the GMs, going past their abilities is forbidden unless given specific approval by the GMs, We will be taking extra time to make sure this rule is enforced at all times so in short, if you do something your character is not capable of doing according to his bio you will be reprimanded.

3: World events: Gaia is owned by the GMs, as such doing something that affects Gaia requires permission from the GMs, this ranges from invading a town to destroying Gaia completely. This is a new rule but please keep it in mind, if you want to alter Gaia you need permission.

4: Flashback usage: don't be excessive, you can have a flashback sequence if necesary but don't make it a point to include a flashback in every post you make, also mark them with tags.

5: Power restrictions: This may seem the same as godmodding but it mainly deals with usage of specific powers, keep these in mind when you post up bios.

-Teleportation: not allowed unless used for travel, will also take time to recover from now on so in and out sequences are prohibited. No teleporting in front of your enemy's face, mock them and teleporting out.

-Regeneration: Only allowed for upper class demons, other characters need permission from the GMs and need a good reason to have this power so keep that in mind.

-life and death: as the character's owner you are of course allowed to have it killed, however reviving a dead character (even your own) needs permission, no one aside from the almighty holds the power over life and death, the almighty being the GMs.

-mountain moving: same as the world event rule, you change the face of Gaia, you need permission.

*The GM's can and will add new rules as the RP is progressing. If that would happen we will let you know in this thread.*

Race Details

-Humans
The non-magic users amongst all the 4 races. However, they make up for this with superior weapons and armour, and their trump card- technology.

-Magi
The strongest magic user amongst all the races. However, they have very weak physical immunity, being unable to withstand amounts of physical hurt that the other races might find meagre.

-Angels
Said to be the most beautiful race of all. Radiating a light of their own, they appear to be strong and almighty, but that is actually a facade.

Their magical abilities is probably second to the demons, which puts them a mark below them. However, they make up for it with intensive training to make the stronger and faster warriors.

Their wings are heavily utilized to this purpose, and throughout the years, their skills are considered to be the strongest of the races..

-Demons

For once I am actually in full agreement with a reviewer. The following was taken from UK IGN....
