-1986-
Family Kamishima hadn't heard from the head of the family for a week. His wife tried to call RISC dozens of times but couldn't get any information about the whereabouts of her husband. She thought about contacting the police but she didn't want her husband to have any trouble at the company. Nerviously she cleaned the house for the third time that day while she let the television set take care of her 10 year old son Kentarô. He watched reruns of the 1973 series "Ultraman Tarô" and rooted "ganbarooo!" as the hero in his red and silver colored suit fought a giant lizzard in the middle of Tôkyô.
Suddenly the door rang and Kentarô's mother rushed towards the door. At the same time the Ultraman episode was interrupted by a special news broadcast. A news helicopter was showing live pictures from Ôsaka. People paniced and ran through the streets while another group was chasing them or already chewing on those who got caught. Ken didn't understand what he saw there but he turned around and shouted:
"Mommy, look!"
His mother didn't look. She was crying in front of two policemen that were behind the door holding their hats in front of their chests.
-2006-
Kentarô and his men found shelter in the basement of a High School in an american suburb. The place was moist and stank of wet chalk. An elderly man was bound to a chair from one of the classrooms while an also restricted victim of the virus, a pretty girl once, raged and growled in front of him. Her leg bones were visible but she was still trying to get to the grey haired man that was sweating and twitching in fear. The ties that kept her only a few feet away from him were secured by a bolt that had a string attached to it. The other end of that string was held by Kentarô who croutched in a save distance to the flesh-hungry girl. Some of his followers stood behind him, all dressed in black suits except for Ken who was wearing a flashy white jacket and crocodile leather boots.
"I'm impressed you made it this far at your age", Kentarô said with a fairly noticable accent.
"And all by yourself as well. We were lucky to find you in your own house. Made it very easy to find you.", he continued while he played with the string that would release the girl if he pulled it.
"I suggest you reconsider. So I'll ask again. Are you Dr. Wilson, former employee of RISC?"
"I don't know what you're talking about!!!", the man shouted. "The house was empty when I found it. I was staying there because of the food supplies in the ...."
Ken interupted him.
"Where I come from you don't leave your obligations just like that, Dr. Wilson. Hasn't RISC treated you like family? And look.... there is the result of your work, right in front of you."
"I really don't...", the man said and suddenly Kentarô pulled the string. The girl broke free of her restraints and leaped towards the who screamed in terror as he saw that monster approach him with an open mouth and eyes full of endless hunger. Only a few inches before she reached the helpless man he heard a short *swoosh* and the girl's head flew against a blackboard next to them. The body still ran like a decapetated chicken until it reached his meal and came to a halt between his legs with blood from the neck flowing all over the the man who just had been saved by Kentarô who now wiped the blood off his sword.
"Maybe we should give you some more time to think", he said without looking at the man he believed to be Dr. Wilson.

In the next room some of Kentarô's men were watching videos on an old TV. The schools library had only a few educational tapes for biology class but it was better than nothing.
Ken clicked with his fingers.
"Time for my video!", he ordered in japanese and one of the others opened a briefcase with serveral tapes in it. He pushed it inside the recorder and pressed start. Kentarô sang along as the children choir began to sing the opening theme for another episode of "Ultraman Tarô":
"Ultraman no chichi ga iru, Ultraman no haha ga iru, soshite Tarô ga koko ni iru..."
(Ultraman's father is here, Ultramans mother is here, and so is Tarô... )
